A Candy Gift Basket Site Where You Can’t Buy Candy Gift Baskets?
This new site will provide two purposes:
1. I will try to collect the best information on what to look for when considering a product and supplier. As the seasons and gift-giving opportunities change, I will also try to seek and communicate the best current deals. Over a period of time as I personally try different services I will place reviews of my own experiences so you can avoid problems and shop with confidence.
2. Obviously this is a particular interest of mine, so for those do-it-yourself types out there, I will provide little tutorials to show how I assemble my own gift baskets — often filled with candy! — for loved ones. I will also collect or direct you to other tutorials online which I think you will discover to be genuinely helpful and useful.
While my site will occasionally cover all manner of gift baskets, candy gift baskets, in particular, prove to be versatile for almost any occasion when you utilize the right style and include the right candy contents. I include delicious chocolate gift baskets among these wondrous pleasures.
Buying A Candy Gift Basket Online
Below I’ve included some questions you should consider if you choose to buy a gift basket online — or any candy gifts in general.
While some of these may be unnecessary if you’re certain you are ordering from a major manufacturer or retailer, many of these may be important because there are a lot of smaller, independent organizations seeking gift basket business online.
Sometimes this is great and you’ll receive great, personal attention, but unfortunately you may also fall victim to people trying to exploit the market as well. So be careful and be attentive!
- Who assembles the basket? Is it assembled by a candy manufacturer or a party independent from the makers of the candy contents?
- Is the site part of the BBB (Better Business Bureau)? Do they have any references other than quotes placed on their site?
- Is you payment secure? Never enter your credit card information into a site which doesn’t use encrypted data transfer. What this means is that the web address should read https:// and not just http:// (notice that extra ‘S’ in there!).
- What is their guarantee or refund policy? Look for specifics!
- Do they deliver in your area and if so who handles the delivery for them?
Creating Your Own Gift Baskets With Candy
Another area I’ll cover will be the art and pleasure of designing and assembling your own candy gift baskets. This will dovetail with other kinds of gift baskets, so if you’re not into the candy part, please stick around. However, I do tend to have a bit of a sweet tooth, so candy gift baskets will be my emphasis.
Some variables you need to consider when brainstorming your custom-made candy gift basket:
- Is this basket for a group or individual?
- What is the age group of the recipient(s)?
- Is the recipient male or female?
- Is this for a very specific occasion or holiday or a general gift?
- What season will it be delivered? Regardless of whether a basket is for a birthday or a holiday, baskets delivered in the middle of the summer should be different than those delivered in the middle of winter.
- Will the candy gift basket be delivered in a business environment or to a home? What might work for a home delivery may not be appropriate for a workplace delivery.
- Are there any specific dietary restrictions? Some of these might include (part are not limited to):
- Diabetic
- Celiac considerations (gluten intolerance)
- Vegetarian
- Vegan
- Kosher
- Nut allergies (especially peanut allergies)
- Dairy Allergies
- Caffeine sensitivies (remember chocolate contains caffeine)
- In addition to these dietary restrictions, some people may have preferred health restrictions. These may include:
- Low Carbohydrates
- Low Fat
- No high fructose corn syrups
- No trans fats or hydrogenated oils
- No or limited preservatives
- And finally, you should really consider the tastes of the recipient. If you don’t know his or her taste, do a little investigating with friends and relatives. Gifts with a more specific focus always work better and represent greater thought than generic gifts without specific customizations for one’s sensibilities.
I hope this helps. Please return to my Candy Gift Baskets Guide soon as I flesh out my site with more and more information and start my blog.
